âš¡ Breaking - OpenAI's latest features take direct aim at the app store model

📰 BREAKING

OpenAI just announced features that let users transact, book, and subscribe without leaving the ChatGPT interface.

This is distribution strategy, not feature expansion. Agent-native interfaces now bypass the app layer entirely — the same layer telecom and fintech operators spent $400M+ building out in Southeast Asia and India between 2018 and 2022.

For enterprise AI leaders in regulated markets: the SuperApp thesis assumed customers would toggle between banking, commerce, and content inside a single branded container. OpenAI is building toward a model where the agent orchestrates across services, and the brand is the conversation itself.

Your customer acquisition funnel just got shorter — or obsolete. If the agent owns discovery, consideration, and conversion, the fight moves upstream to becoming the API the agent calls, not the app the customer opens.

Follow if you're tracking how AI reshapes commercial models in telecom and fintech.
